Or even better, you can often borrow the item from a friend or neighbor for free. Through developing this habit you will be able to save a lot of money.

There are many ways that you can save money on transportation. The easiest way to save some money on gas is to carefully monitor how you drive. You will less gas whenever you coast rather than speeding along and slamming on the gas.  Not only does it save gas, it will produce less pollution and it will save energy as well. As you drive the speed limit, you will not have to slam on the brakes as often. In addition, when you drive slower, you use less gas. It is also beneficial to avoid stop and go traffic as much as possible because you will have to use more gas to accelerate more often. You can also improve your gas mileage by removing heavy, unnecessary objects from your car.
