Healthcare Costs
Filed under Finances, Money Saving TipsApr 24So if you are looking for a way to save money right now in the short-term, this isn’t the post for you. This is taking a look at the big picture, how to save money during your lifetime.
Healthcare costs are soaring out of control. There are many reasons for this that I do not need to get into. Needless to say, getting sick or going to the hospital or fillingĀ a prescription sure isn’t cheap. So what can be done? Here’s your top 5 ways to invest in your health and lower your healthcare costs during your lifetime:
1. Drink more water. This one single act can make you not be partially dehydrated perpetually. It will also give you more energy.
2. Exercise at least 20 minutes daily. Even if it is just a walk around the block, you must do some kind of activity 6 days a week.
3. Go to bed. Most people hate being told this as children and stay up late as adults just because they can. Early to bed and early to rise will do wonders for your health. Sleep at least 7-8 hours a night.
4. No more soda. The biggest health killer in this country are beverages. You don’t realize how much sugar and how many calories you take into your body. Not to mention their acidity doesn’t help the lining of your stomach. Water is nature’s beverage, not surprisingly, your body handles it better than any other, so drink it, not coffee, beer or soft drinks.
5. Say good bye to McDonalds. This will actually help in the short run, too. Obesity is on the rise in this country and so is fast food consumption. Probably because it is fast and easy. Well, lay off the fast food and do these other 4 things and watch as you are healthier, have more energy, and feel better.
