Groceries are often one of the more costly monthly expenses. Fortunately, there are many ways to cut your shopping list down and to spend less. One of the things you can do to do this is to buy in bulk whenever you can. When you buy things in bulk, you are often paying less per ounce than you would be otherwise. In addition, you will not have to purchase the same thing quite as often. This will shorten your grocery list and save you money. Challenge yourself by seeing how many things you can buy in bulk.

Another great way to save a lot of money is to start packing your own lunches every day. A healthy, good lunch that is packed from home will usually cost around three dollars. Meanwhile, a typical businessman will spend at least eight dollars on lunch when eating out.

Overtime, five dollars a day really adds up. Besides, eating out is often less healthy for you. If you find that the transition from eating out to eating food from home is difficult, start with one day a week and increase it until you eat from home most of the time. By doing this you can save yourself a lot of money.
